Usually, at this time of the year, I am so ready for the Fall season to begin.  But, with our weather this year, I feel like I should already be decorated for the Fall season.  No one can complain about the weather in Kansas this summer.  Well, I guess we can complain about anything we want, can’t we?

I have always had a love for mercury glass pumpkins, gourds, and Butternut Squash.  And, the ones I purchased this year are incredible. Sometimes I don’t like the way the saturated colors of fall just don’t look like they belong in some of my home decor.  The color is so bright, it just yells “I’m here and I look really FALL-ISH.”  Rather than just sitting properly and not screaming ORANGE!  I’m not saying that those colors don’t have their place;  I’m just saying that sometimes I just want something to be beautiful in an elegantly stated simplicity–a piece that I don’t have to work at “making it belong.”  I do like to add rather understated colors with the mercury glass that will take me all the way through the Thanksgiving season and, if I would want to, take me through Christmas.  These are the ones.

Each day I open new boxes of goodies and think of you all.  And yes, I am working on those beautiful colors of fall in my floral designs.  I’ll never get tired of having those colors in the right places.  So, I hope you plan on coming to our Autumn Open House–September 2 – 6.
