Years ago, when I was trying to decide on the perfect name for my business, I knew that I wanted it to reflect my desire to be detailed, therefore, not “straight out of the box.” Eventually, “The Added Touch” won out over other possibilities. Many times, this gets shortened to “Added Touch” and seems to fit perfectly, since the initials (A.T.) happen to be the same as April Turner. Neat, huh?
I’ve recently finished a couple of window treatment designs, that I believe reflect a few of those “added touches”. This living room is beautifully decorated and the view out the window is wonderful.
We wanted to soften the large windows, but not distract from these other elements. The simplicity of side panels did just that, but the details at the top were the finishing touches.
Across that living room, in the dining room, we added side panels also. The fabric on these is a beautiful embroidered design. But, you know, it’s all in the details… So, we added these contrasting buttons, which enhance the colors in the fabric. If you look closely, you’ll also see the “added touch” of cording at the top of the panel.
