This spring/summer I have had the privilege of assisting a client friend in the decorating of a home which she and her husband have so lovingly remodeled into a wonderfully cozy family space.

We started with the curtains in the kitchen/dining area. The cheerful color and print of this fabric was the jumping off point, from where we never had second thoughts. Teal was the color of emphasis and we had a grand time playing with it.

This beautifully detailed banquette was built by a master craftsman, and then I was asked to come in and make it cozy and welcoming. What an enjoyable opportunity it was.

We muted the teal somewhat for the foundational cushions, but then brought the color back in full strength with our pillows and other soft touches. Isn’t the high chair adorable?

This neutral colored sofa fit well in the space, but just didn’t say “happy” until we brought the teal color onto it. That’s what we did all around the main floor–spread “happy” (in the form of teal).

And, of course, no house would be complete without one of Debbie’s florals.
