Hello, my favorite people! I always like talking to you because you are so interested in beautiful homes. And aren’t beautiful homes in the eyes of the beholder?

April and I had that “aha” moment this past weekend. We traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, for a little market analysis (to see what people are buying). Yep, you guessed it. I bought way more than I should have and spent way more for products that I should have. “It’s OK,” I keep telling myself. “Someone is going to love this and be thankful to me for traveling many hundreds of miles in horrible weather, risking our lives among women that are really “SERIOUS” for these one of a kind finds, that cannot be found any where else.” Right! Right?

The name of the event was “Junkstock”. Peculiar name, but fits it all so well. You talk about reminding me of my teenage years. Whoa!!!!! Took me waaaaay back there. The only thing I was missing was my bell bottomed blue jeans and the flower in my hair.

We saw some pretty amazing pieces of furniture that had been restored.

I must say, I really do get great joy, just like many of these artists, in rescuing pieces of furniture and architectural finds. What is there about the past that we love so much? Were times that much better, or is it because we were so innocent and didn’t really have a clue about what was going on in the world? Whatever, this look is REALLY growing on me. I must say, though, I wouldn’t want my whole house to have this look. The Vintage look, that is.

Here’s April rescuing this wonderful piece. It’s going to be a surprise what she’s going to do with it. I know you’ll love it and it will be beautiful!!!! I have to confess, I am the world’s worst person about not getting before and after pictures of furniture Items I have rescued. And, now they have all sold, so I can’t even go back and show you the “after” picture. Don’t worry. I am going to do better in the future. (I think, I hope.)

And here’s April again going into one of my favorite vendor’s space. Lots of beautiful restored pieces of furniture.

I love the look of mixing elegant with vintage. I still get the clean lines of the elegant and sophisticated decorating yet creating a more relaxed, not so formal design, with some vintage pieces.

And last, here I am in front of the “hippy van” with all of the flower power in the world… Check out the chairs beside it. Doesn’t that take you back a few years, decades, centuries (Whoa! not centuries. I’m not that old, I just feel like it in the morning when I get out of bed and look in the mirror.)

Now to get onward and upward for our next event. HEY! That’s next week. Oh my goodness. Can’t wait for you to come check out the new items we have waiting just for you! (I use way too many exclamation points, don’t I? My English teacher would be mortified.)

Please come to our next event:
